Abigail Williams has had a weird career with hiatuses and lineup changes, but they have finally perfected their sound on Walk Beyond the Dark. This album has such a refreshing and natural feeling that makes it one of the top atmospheric black metal albums of recent years. Ryan

Black Metal in the last decade has really quite turned into a artistically expressive genre, which has spawned countless new sounds and many a fantastic albums. With that being said, sometimes you just need something straightforward. Wode marries Swedish Meloblack with little touches of Melodeath, Heavy Metal and even punk. Spawning an aggressive yet melodically beautiful album that just gets stuck in your head while you bang your head. Dissection fans will be happy. 4/5 ClassyMusicSnob

Nightfall's Lament is as Ocean of Grief as it gets as far as the music and atmosphere go. These rat bastards once again takes it to new heights, filling your mind with doom and riffs tinged with black metal, through and through. The riffage compliments one another, with some feeling amped up than often leading into the cold and frosty ones . Old Man Doom

I'd say Havukruunu is the rightful holder of the Crown and the mantle of Quorthon. Epic choirs, vikingesque themes and tales from the other times, of the Finnish paganism back in the days before our ancestors were brought to the cross and forced to kneel while feeling the bloody sword of saviour on their throats made to kiss the hand of murderers who burnt thousands, tore down our holy places and took our holy days. Eyes teary I listen to these songs, never forgiving the crimes of the cross! Peikonmieli
